Joke of the Day: Lightning and Violists
Unless someone can demonstrate otherwise, I think it’s safe to say that violas and violists are perhaps the most joked-about instruments/instrumentalists on the planet. Patently unfair though it is, there are countless viola jokes…and many of them are just too funny to refrain from sharing them due to a wounded ego. 
There are so many viola jokes, in fact, that I may try to work them in a bit more often. Though humor varies from person to person, it offers us some of the same benefits as music: it breaks our routine, lifts our mood, and reminds us that life is there to be enjoyed.
So, without further ado, here is today’s joke:
Q: How is lightning like a violist’s fingers?
A: Neither one strikes the same place twice.

That’s so true! But neither violinists nor bassists will notice, not even the conductor (who cares about viola’s pitch anyway?)
